snow day 2010

we set up camp in the family room, watched movies, made pizza, danced, played trains and ate marshmallows. but the very best part of the day was the 17 minutes we spent out in the blizzard. is there anything better than a snow day? even now, as the mom, the thrill of getting out of school makes me as giddy as ever. maybe a snow day isn't pure freedom, but it has always felt like it to me.

We do have lots of snow in Oslo, but never snow days. I think I would love it if we had them. At least once in a while. It looks like you had a blast.

Here in Australia we never had snow days but we did have heat days where the temp would rise above 40 degrees celcius and we'd all get to go home..

they where never as fun as your snow days looked though, they mostly involved sitting in the pool with a tall glass of ice tea haha.

There is nothing better than the feeling of waking up on a snow day. I can hardly sleep in on a snow day because I get so excited! :P I'm glad you and your family had a lovely time : ) Pizza sounds delicious on days like these!

Well how bad a mum am I - we don't have any snow here, but this morning when my eldest said her tummy was hurting and she wasn't sure she was well enough for school I was actually excited at the prospect of her staying home! She was well enough in the end, but it makes an ordinary day seem special.
